I remember it when the road on the steep hill between it and Racquette Lake was so rough that most vehicles coming in from the north (and certainly anyone pulling any kind of trailer) drove Rte. 28 all the way to Eagle Bay and then came in to Brown's Tract from the south end of the Uncas Rd. over seven miles of pretty rough dirt. Every so often the paint is refreshed. This photo put a big grin on my face.
