Thank you all for your kind comments on the last and prior posts. I really appreciate them.
This was the view of Green Lane Reservoir from the trail during a recent walk last weekend. The recent bit of winter that we finally experienced in New Hanover created a nice icy covering over the water and a beautiful blanket of snow in the woods. Hiking through the snow is a wonderful experience as the snow muffles so much sound, creating a peaceful silence. The snow has a way of making the cold almost pleasureable.
I liked how not all of the reservoir iced over, the bit of open water nicely reflecting the snowy woods on the opposite shore and a hint of the evening sky just after sunset. It was difficult, if not impossible, to get a clear, unimpeded view of the water due to the low-hanging tree branches along the shoreline. So, rather than fight them, I decided to use them in the image, which probably gives you a more accurate view of what I was seeing that winter evening.
Thanks for stopping by.

You are really taking some nice photos, Russ. I put the comment on this one, but most all of them knock my socks off. Great stuff!
