Eagle's Eye ViewPosted by Russ Devan (New Hanover, United States) on 20 March 2008 in Animal & Insect and Portfolio. These are two Bald Eagles (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) that flew below our helicopter as we were performing an aerial recon for an environmental project in Maryland. We were at an altitude of about 600 feet above the ground when I shot this. Note how the eagle at the bottom left of the image is looking up as we flew over. When I used to live near Washington, many moons ago, I would see Bald Eagles from time to time along the Potomac River north of Washington, near Great Falls, Maryland. They also nest south of Washington at Mason Neck National Wildlife Refuge. Fortunately, Bald Eagles are no longer considered an endangered species. Thanks for stopping by. "The Master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his education and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence in whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he is always doing both."
