Evergreen Needles, Ferd's Bog

Posted by Russ Devan (New Hanover, United States) on 5 April 2008 in Plants & Nature and Portfolio.

This is a small evergreen that I found growing in Ferd's Bog in the Adirondacks. The bog was very interesting in that the ground was covered with soft, wet sphagnum moss, pitcher plants, and the skeletons of only a handful of very small evergreens that had the audacity to try to grow in the soft, saturated ground.
