Autumn Reflections, Lower Brown's Tract Pond

Posted by Russ Devan (New Hanover, United States) on 7 April 2008 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

Lower Brown's Tract Pond is a beautiful little pond near Raquette Lake, NY that is tucked away in the woods and off the beaten path. It is as absolutely quiet and tranquil as this image suggests. While working on this image, Vivaldi's violin concerto "Autumn" from "The Four Seasons" kept running through my mind. It is one of my favorite pieces of music.

Thanks for stopping by.

"The Master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his education and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence in whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he is always doing both."
