Morning Mist, Alberter Pond

Posted by Russ Devan (New Hanover, United States) on 19 April 2008 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

This is a pond on the Alberter Farm near where I grew up in western Pennsylvania. This was taken one Easter morning at sunrise as I was driving to the Flight 93 memorial near Shanksville, PA to photograph the temporary memorial at sunrise. I had walked, ridden the school bus, bicycled and driven past this scene countless times for over 20 years while growing up there, but had never seen it like this. Needless to say, I stopped for a few moments to record the fog rolling off the pond which then migrated along a low area in the valley. It was actually more breathtaking a scene than this photo can do justice.

Thanks for stopping by.
