This was taken in Birchrunville about two weeks ago just up the road from the Sheeder-Hall Covered Bridge that was posted yesterday. The sun was just setting behind the hill to the right. It was all I could do to try to minimize the lens flare while I shot this, which required holding the camera with one hand and blocking out the sun with the other hand (and trying desperately not to get my hand in the image!). I like how the backlighting from the sun lit up the emerging yellow-green leaves giving them an autumnal appearance, when in fact it was early spring.

So much to see in this shot - the gorgeous light, the almost mirror shot of the tree behind it, the two levels of trees along the horizon and the crisp lines of the barn! You never disappoint, RD and I'm glad you stopped to catch this moment

This is magical. The light is the star and it's perfectly captured in that tree (and what a beautiful shape!). Nicely framed.
