Fire GoddessesPosted by Russ Devan (New Hanover, United States) on 30 June 2008 in People & Portrait and Portfolio. This was shot over the weekend in my backyard. My 11-year old daughter (left) had a friend stay overnight, so what more fun could two 11 year old girls have during a summertime sleepover than to have a night swim in the backyard pool lit by oil lamp? My daughter is normally very camera shy, but, it turns out, her friend is definitely not. The two of them decided to ham it up for my camera while I supervised their night swim. The posing idea was all theirs. "The Master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his education and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence in whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he is always doing both."

Well done and creative. 30 Jun 2008 12:17pm Betsy Barron from Glenmoore, United Statesa secret ritual among rare tribe of 'tweener species! love this! 1 Jul 2008 11:11am @Betsy Barron: "Tweeners" are definitely their own species, that's for sure. Unlike other species, however, their evolutionary path goes backwards for a while, back toward the primordial ooze, when they become teenagers. I think chimps might be a little higher on the evolutionary scale at this point than teenagers. Then, somehow, miraculously, their evolutionary path moves forward again and they actually become human adults (I think that's sometime after college)! |
