Dew-DrenchedPosted by Russ Devan (New Hanover, United States) on 22 September 2008 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. Some dew-covered grasses I found in a foggy field one morning in Green Lane Park a few weeks ago. Happy autumn equinox to all! The first day of fall is set to roll in here at 15:43 GMT today. That means my favorite time of the year is about to begin. I can already feel the fall chill in the air at night here in New Hanover. It's been refreshing to wake up and have to reach for a sweater or a light jacket to walk Nala in the mornings. I'm looking forward to doing plenty of autumn hiking and camping this year and, of course, capturing the colors. "The Master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his education and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence in whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he is always doing both."

What a capture of morning light and the autumnal colors that are peppering the landscpe slowly but surely - and is that a touch of flare in the upper left corner?! I think I should start a religion :) 23 Sep 2008 4:04am @Betsy Barron: You crack me up, Bets! I'll admit to being a recent "flare convert" (and you can take all the credit for that, if you want. I know I won't hear the end of it anytime soon), but I don't know about the religion thing. But, no, there's no flare in this particular image (at least none that my deteriorating, bespectacled eyes can detect). Laurie from New Jersey, United StatesA glorious misty morning! Ahhh yes! The morning fall chill is here. Love it! 23 Sep 2008 5:47pm |
