Every Silver Lining Has A Touch of GreyPosted by Russ Devan (New Hanover, United States) on 6 October 2008 in Architecture and Portfolio. A steel suspension bridge over the Delaware River between Pennsylvania and New Jersey at Riegelsville, Pennsylvania. The bridge was constructed by John Robeling & Sons, who also built the Brooklyn Bridge in New York. This was shot during a photo outing with Betsy, Laurie and Mark. The four of us gathered near the Delaware River the morning after Tropical Storm Hannah visited our area, drenching us with about four inches of rain. We were very lucky compared to many areas of the US that got hit with and are still dealing with the after effects of some major hurricanes this year. We all monitored the weather very closely that morning anticipating some tremendous morning light on the heels of the clearing storm. At home, it was crystal clear skies with a million stars visible when I got up early for this sunrise shoot. Unfortunately, by the time we met at the river, we were greeted with dark, overcast skies still lingering from Hannah. Fortunately, the sky began to clear just as we were leaving the bridge to drive to a different location. "The Master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his education and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence in whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he is always doing both."
