Shenandoah SunrisePosted by Russ Devan (New Hanover, United States) on 22 October 2008 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. Another view of the sunrise over the valley east of the Blue Ridge Mountains from Shenandoah National Park. The one thing I love about the Blue Ridge are the mountains seem to exist in layers. Although, these are only small foothills jutting above the valley floor below, they are still beautiful and create a lot of visual interest. "The Master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his education and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence in whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he is always doing both."

In so many spots, you'd have been 'treed in'. This is GORGEOUS, and reminds me of the Blue Ridge in the Great Smokys on the NC/TN border. 22 Oct 2008 6:27am Viewfinder from Bradenton, United StatesThis is beyond-belief beautiful! The Shenandoah Mtns, the Appalachian range, from south to north offers some of the most beautiful country anywhere. And your photo of this particular moment is perfection. 22 Oct 2008 11:30am Jeffster from Long Island, United StatesWow!
