Alone At The TopPosted by Russ Devan (New Hanover, United States) on 28 October 2008 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. "The Master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his education and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence in whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he is always doing both."

@Marie: Merci. Paco Díaz from Palma de Mallorca, SpainVery well composed this image. I like also the lights and colors. 28 Oct 2008 9:28am @Paco Díaz: Gracias, Senor. @Betty: Thanks, Betty! @Mary: Thanks, Mary! See you at Camera Club tonight. S.Mostafa Ahangarha from Tehran, IranExcellent frame and composition. But why you don't process? Minimally you can increase saturation and contrast. 28 Oct 2008 2:25pm @S.Mostafa Ahangarha: Thank you. The image was processed in CS3 with adjustments to shadows/highlights, curves, and selected color luminosity in ACR. Saturtion was not increased as this was adjusted to my satisfaction during the curves and luminosity adjustments. Some sharpening was also performed using the lab color technique. Finally, the corner of a distracting stone wall was removed from the edge of the photo that I wasn't able to address during the photo's composition without cutting off some of the branches of the tree. Betsy Barron from Glenmoore, United StatesI like the muted tones here - it doesn't need to scream "Fall" - in fact, the gentle light on the leaves in the lower left is stunning - the bands of skylight provides gentle leading lines.. overall, a superb image! Don't change a thing! 28 Oct 2008 4:49pm @Betsy Barron: Thanks, Bets! Judy from Brooksville-Florida,, United StatesBeautiful ... I love the tones of color. The foreground light balances the light in the clouds and the subtle variations on the mountains is just beautiful. You did a super job of processing IMHO! 28 Oct 2008 10:09pm @Judy: Thank you, Judy! Kathryn from Warburton, Australiaexcellent image! what a view this tree has!!! i love the bands of clouds! 28 Oct 2008 10:35pm @Kathryn: Thank you, Kathryn DarkElf from Perth, Australiabeautiful composition and light! love the placement of the tree and line of the edge where the tree is standing leads in well into the rest of the shot... it works well especially with lines of the clouds pointing towards the tree as well... 29 Oct 2008 12:51am @DarkElf: Thank you very much, Dark Elf. The leading lines of the clouds and the lone tree is exactly what drew me in to this scene. Laurie from New Jersey, United StatesAnother absolutely gorgeous view. The clouds are beautiful. 29 Oct 2008 10:50am @Laurie: Thank you, Laurie. |
