TortuousPosted by Russ Devan (New Hanover, United States) on 15 November 2008 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio. This is an interesting tree that we found along the Horseshoe Trail in French Creek State Park while on a hike last weekend. These innumerable and oddly-shaped branches had an interesting tortuosity to them that begged to be photographed. It was as if the tree's roots were 12 feet in the air rather than below ground. "The Master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his education and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence in whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he is always doing both."

Betty from New Jersey, United StatesVery interesting tree! You are right about the "roots" being 12 feet in the air, it certainly looks that way. 15 Nov 2008 10:48am Paco Díaz from Palma de Mallorca, SpainThis is an interesting photo for a curious tree.
