Wintery PondPosted by Russ Devan (New Hanover, United States) on 28 November 2008 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. I hope all my US visitors had a pleasant Thanksgiving and are recovering from their holiday feast. Today is Black Friday, which is the first day of the Christmas shopping season when the stores and roads are jam-packed with shoppers. I came across this beautiful pond when I was forced to detour around a five-mile backup on the main road as I drove to work. This was shot along a windy little road south of Marsh Creek State Park, where I have photographed many times. Usually I curse such snow wimps for causing such long traffic jams in the winter. But this time, I will thank them for allowing me to find this beautiful landscape. "The Master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his education and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence in whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he is always doing both."

Suzanne from Huntington Bch, United StatesBeautiful scene. I'm not sure whether to envy your living in such a picturesque area or simply to be happy I'm here in sunny...and warm...southern California. 28 Nov 2008 7:49am @Suzanne: Thank you.
