White WildflowersPosted by Russ Devan (New Hanover, United States) on 14 December 2008 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio. It's not often that I shoot, let alone post, images of flowers. Part of the reason is that so many others do it so much better. However, I found these little white wildflowers growing atop a mountain summit too enticing to pass up. Domesticated flowers I can pass (with my camera) pretty easily as they seem manmade to me (albeit, very beautiful). But I have a soft spot for wildflowers, which are God's handiwork. If anyone knows the name of this flower, please let me know. "The Master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his education and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence in whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he is always doing both."

Laurie from New Jersey, United StatesI can see why these got your attention. They are really beautiful and so delicate. The treatment really brings out that delicate beauty very nicely. 14 Dec 2008 5:36am Monte Stevens from Fort Collins, United StatesAs a photographer we know how much practice plays a part of our work. If we don't shoot then we will not get any better or learn something new or find a niche for our images. I think Anita does a wonderful job with flowers but she practices on them. What you do is wonderful because you practice but what else can you do with practice? I say that for myself as well as anyone else. 14 Dec 2008 3:46pm Magda from Vancouver, CanadaThis is divine... how elegant and delicate. Love the softness. 14 Dec 2008 6:14pm Suzanne from Huntington Bch, United StatesExquisite image. I love the soft colors and delicate quality of both the flowers and the light. Great capture. 14 Dec 2008 6:14pm Anita from West Nottingham, United StatesLovely! Great backgrouond I like the dreamy effect, Russ. What did you do in post processing? Unfortunately, I can't identify these flowers. 15 Dec 2008 7:10pm |
