Fowl Weather

I found these Canada Geese resting on frozen Marsh Creek Lake. The snow patterns on the ice are what initially attracted me to this image. The temperature when I shot this last Friday was about 15 degrees F with a 0 degree wind chill, which is a little colder than normal for this area in January.

"The Master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his education and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence in whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he is always doing both."

Typical scene for this area lately! Too cold for me! Where is our January thaw?

I cannot believe the numbers of geese this year...It is like they are constantly overhead...I hear them all day long. I never remember there being so many. While they are beautiful (but nasty messy) it is out of control and I think something needs to be done...the overpopulation of Canada Geese results in planes crash landing in the Hudson River!

This is a beautiful scene...really beautiful. It really looks cold.

Great shot. Don't think the geese like it any better that I would.

Very nice! I have to agree with Laurie, I don't remember seeing this many geese as in previous years.
