Farewell, Andrew WyethPosted by Russ Devan (New Hanover, United States) on 22 January 2009 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. A small tribute to a great artist. This was shot yesterday afternoon in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, Wyeth's hometown, as I was returning from a meeting. I've always been an admirer of his simple, yet beautiful paintings and his style of using very muted colors. Mr. Wyeth, you and your works are a national treasure. You will be greatly missed. May peace be with you. "The Master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his education and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence in whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he is always doing both."

john4jack from Corvallis, United StatesWyeth would have loved this photograph. It is so much like a painting and beautifully processed. 22 Jan 2009 2:59pm Suzanne from Huntington Bch, California, United StatesOMG, I started to write how this image reminded me of Wyeth before I noticed that the name was in your title. Well, you certainly captured it well as it's like one of his paintings. 22 Jan 2009 7:32pm Betsy Barron from Glenmoore, United StatesStunning imagery and use of lines - I love how the image has layers to it, but yet still in the muted tones of winter. Gorgeous tribute - PISIFIHI 23 Jan 2009 3:41am Laurie from New Jersey, United StatesThis is beautiful indeed...definitely a fitting tribute to an icon of the art world...such a great loss. 23 Jan 2009 12:15pm Marcie from United StatesIt really does have a painterly feel.
