SunburstPosted by Russ Devan (New Hanover, United States) on 17 February 2009 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. Another image from Hopewell Furnace National Historic Park. I attempted to process this as an HDR, but I didn't like how it turned out. So....I turned to my tried and true method...using the best exposure and tweaking it here and there in post processing. "The Master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his education and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence in whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he is always doing both."

I love the way the earth tones work so well with those dusty shades of blue... and as if the very interesting sun and clouds weren't enough, that great naked tree adds just the right amount of extra drama. Thanks for sharing your terrific picture! 17 Feb 2009 10:34pm pedro alexandre from loures, Portugalnice landscape, agains the sun its very hard to balance the light, maybe if you waited a litle bit more time. 17 Feb 2009 11:43pm DarkElf from Perth, Australiaexcellent cpature - especially against the sun - it can be very difficult to control the light... it is quite good here just peeking at the right time and illuminating the fields enough to see nice colour and detail as well as creating a nice mood! 18 Feb 2009 2:10am Laurie from New Jersey, United StatesI think this is just beautiful.
