Craggy TreesPosted by Russ Devan (New Hanover, United States) on 27 February 2009 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. ...one of the Tenant Houses at Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site. For some reason, I find myself attracted more and more to the shadows that are cast by interestingly-shaped objects, especially trees. But, you probably figured that out already. "The Master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his education and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence in whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he is always doing both."

The B&W is perfect and I especially like the tree shadows cast on the white building. 27 Feb 2009 8:35pm Barry from Kingwood, United StatesLove the shadows too! Perfect timing with the quote as well! Thank you. 28 Feb 2009 12:58am Anita from West Nottingham, United StatesI love not only the shadows on the house, but the highlighting of the twisting branches. Beautiful, and excellent in B&W. 28 Feb 2009 11:27am Dan Creighton from Pottstown, United StatesI only wish that the shadow of the tree was to the left of the door so that it stood out more and mirrored the elements of the trees themselves but other then that this is a great b&w. 5 Mar 2009 2:21am |
