Beautiful MusicPosted by Russ Devan (New Hanover, United States) on 22 April 2009 in People & Portrait and Portfolio. ...a street musician that I encountered in Philadelphia last February. This gentleman not only played with impeccable quality and intonation, but he had a large repertoire and was able to switch effortlessly from one song to another. He was very entertaining and I stopped to listen and photograph him for several minutes. Because I have an affinity for shadows in my photographs, I tried to find the right angle where I could include his sharp shadow and also tell a story about him and his surroundings. "The Master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his education and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence in whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he is always doing both."
