Field of Blue IIPosted by Russ Devan (New Hanover, United States) on 8 May 2009 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. "The Master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his education and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence in whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he is always doing both."

Nilla from Continent: Europe, SwedenWhat a great photo! like the small tiny passage. 8 May 2009 6:16am Frida from SwedenExcellent composition I like the tiny trail on the right. Those beautiful blue flowers are so beautiful. 8 May 2009 8:00am paul from Tadcaster, United Kingdomamazing light and the texture of the trees makes them really stand out. The wandering path is the finishing touch. bravo 8 May 2009 10:27am ordinaryimages from Kentucky Bluegrass, United StatesWould like to have seen it wider. best...jerry 8 May 2009 2:34pm @ordinaryimages: The reason that it was shot at 105 mm is because I try to compose the image as best as I can "in camera" and try not to crop the image if I can help. Had I shot this at wide angle setting, there would have been a lot of extraneous garbage in the image, especially in the foreground, and would have necessitated cropping it in post processing. Leaving out the garbage made it a stronger image. What is left out of an image is just as important as what is included in it. Dan Creighton from Pottstown, United StatesRuss- This scene is really cool. Nice side lighting on the trees to help set them off. Fine detail and color to grab the eye. Overall I like the scene but that little path on the right really is where the eye goes for me. I think a vertical of that right side would be super strong. This seems like a gem of a place this time of the year. Nothing like that at VF yesterday, just mowed fields. 8 May 2009 5:58pm |
