Cathedral of Pines

"The Master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his education and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence in whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he is always doing both."

wow, I love this Russ!....I love the composition and the gentle tones. The light looks fascinating. Was it misty?

16 Jun 2009 9:57pm

@Ian Bramham: Actually, this was taken during the middle of the afternoon when it was mostly sunny. Sometimes, the weather doesn't do what I need it to do, so I have to help things along. I'd rather not do it this way, but it is closer to how I saw this image in my mind's eye.

Monte Stevens from Westerville, United States

Good use of lines. Is that a path or just the way they were planted?

17 Jun 2009 4:27pm

@Monte Stevens: I think that may be just the way the trees were planted, but it has become a path over time, probably by local fishermen.

pedro alexandre from loures, Portugal

nice i like the path and the glomy mood, good work on the sepia tones too.
