Tadpole Pond, Adirondack Mountains, New YorkPosted by Russ Devan (New Hanover, United States) on 22 August 2009 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. Another one from the archives. Shot earlier this summer on a remote island in the middle of Seventh Lake, Adirondack Mountains, New York. We canoed about a half hour across Seventh Lake to this island from our campsite. My kids spent about an hour wading in this shallow pond collecting tiny tadpoles. "The Master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his education and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence in whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he is always doing both."

Oh to be young again heh? 24 Aug 2009 11:57am Brian from United StatesI love your photo - the colors are very warm. The Adirondack Mountains are awesome. A few weeks ago my wife and I spent some time at the Mirror lake Inn at Lake Placid. Very nice! Did a lot of hiking (Whiteface) and exploring. I am only a hobby photpgrapher, just learning. The title pic on my blog is the Keene Valley near Lake Placid - a quick stop picture. I think it came out ok. * As for the tadpoles, I grew up next to a parking lot, don't know much about them. All the best! 2 Sep 2009 6:30pm |
