Ghosts in the LakePosted by Russ Devan (New Hanover, United States) on 9 September 2009 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. This was shot at Marsh Creek State Park last Thursday evening at a photo outing organized by my friend, Ed Heaton, of Ed Heaton Photography. The purpose of the photo outing was to photograph the moonrise as it appeared above the lake. Unfortunately, no one told the clouds of our plans, so the full moon was fully visible for only a short time before the clouds had their say about the matter. The fishermen in the foreground is actually the same person who slowly walked into the frame and paused for several seconds at each location while the shutter was open. Thanks, Ed, for organizing this outing. "The Master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his education and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence in whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he is always doing both."

Dan Creighton from Pottstown, United StatesVery nice image Russ and out of the box too. I think this works with or without the fisherman as the overall mood and composition is very nice. 9 Sep 2009 3:02pm john4jack from Corvallis, Oregon, United StatesSuperb photograph. Great title. Extraordinary tones. 9 Sep 2009 3:05pm Viewfinder from Bradenton, FL, United StatesI think the clouds lend a kind of ghostly light to the whole scene, which the moving fisherman personifies. Nice shot. 9 Sep 2009 6:59pm Monte Stevens from Westerville, United StatesDoesn't matter the moon didn't get the memo, you did a wonderful job. 10 Sep 2009 1:18am |
