Knox's Artillery

A row of cannon in the artillery park section of Valley Forge National Historic Park, Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. General Henry Knox was the chief artillery officer of the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War.

I got to see one of these canon go off during a live fire demonstration at the park a few years ago. They are QUITE loud when they go off. I'm not sure which was more interesting: watching the canon fire or watching the artillery crew in their period uniforms. I just remember they made me get out of the way when I was trying to capture the firing from a unique angle. I guess they didn't want to put an 8-pound canon ball through my lens.

He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence in whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he is always doing both."

Cool, I didn't know any of them still fired. Cool perspective, Russ.

I just had a couple shots of these cannons on my blog - they are wonderful objects to photograph and I can imagine that they are fantastic to see fired. I will have to try and catch that sometime....

Love your POV and processing - very authentic.....
