No DistractionsPosted by Russ Devan (New Hanover, United States) on 16 October 2009 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. I found this lone individual one morning working on his laptop at a picnic table beside the lake at Green Lane park. He was so engrossed in his work that he didn't notice me walk up from behind and make this photo. It reminded me of what I sometimes like to do when I need to get things done: I go out to a special place in the woods where there's neither internet nor any cell phone reception, just a picnic table in the middle of the quiet woods with no one around. It allows me to get away from all the on-going distractions around me and to concentrate on what's important at the moment. "The Master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his education and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence in whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he is always doing both."

Dan Creighton from Pottstown, United StatesVery nice shot Russ. The individual adds a lot. Works very well as a panoramic crop as well. 16 Oct 2009 3:35pm Chris from South Jersey, United Stateswhat a feeling of peace in this shot - I love the reflections in the water and the wonderful subtle colors..... 16 Oct 2009 8:23pm Frida from SwedenA very meditative place to collect ones thoughts and clear the mind.
