The Reluctant Model

Posted by Russ Devan (New Hanover, United States) on 1 November 2009 in People & Portrait and Portfolio.

This is my wife, Carol, who I convinced (i.e., cajoled, begged, whined, pleaded with, bribed) today to finally let me take some formal portraits of her. She is very camera shy, so she made me promise to limit my shooting to one hour. Wife, mother of four, career woman, and medical professional, whom I've known since high school. She looks damn good, doesn't she?

"The Master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his education and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence in whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he is always doing both."

Wonderful portrait, Russ. Tell Carol, for a reluctant model she looks really relaxed and beautiful.
